Happier, Healthier Heart. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women and men in Charles County and Maryland, according to the 2011 community health needs assessment. My husband Ron and I attended Civista’s heart disease risk screening on Saturday, February 11, 2012 which was organized by Joyce Riggs, Director of Community Development and Planning, Civista Medical Center and her team. For the past year, I’ve shared that my husband and I have been on a journey to live a happier, healthier life-style.
